The Pint of Science Festival comes to Litteraturhuset on May 19 and 21, 2025. Join us to meet local researchers who will present their latest work in accessible and engaging talks. At the end of the evening, you will get a chance to test your new knowledge with a quiz!
On the first day of the festival, our fantastic speakers will explore the theme "Learning from nature".
Rose Trappes, postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for the Study of the Sciences and the Humanities, UiB, will present:“Is citizen science good science?”
Elena Kochetkova, Associate Professor at the Department of Archaeology, History, Cultural Studiesand Religion, UiB, will present: “Forest and technology in the 20th century, human-nature relationships”
Carlo Koos, Associate Professor at the Department of Government, UiB, will present: “Weather, wives, and war: Howclimate change and polygyny shape violent conflict”
Ragnhild Gya, postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Biological Sciences, UiB, will present her work on the benefits of outdoors teaching to improve learning outcomes and connection to nature!
Pint of Science is an international non-profit organization that aims to foster connections between scientists and the public.The Pint of Science Festival occurs simultaneously in hundreds of venues across the world on May 19-21, 2025.
